At that time snorkeled the back of Molokini (not much there) and toured La Perouse bay (it gets rough there) and snorkeled turtle town and some other spots I cannot recall now. Also bring along something that you can throw over your camera at short notice. After you snap your photos you can zoom in to really appreciate what you were not fully able to appreciate with your own eyes. So my recommendation is make sure you bring a camera with a high megapixel count and a good zoom on it. (I base this both on their advertisements and having spoken with both of them. We did see many, however they were some distance away. Whereas Redline seems to emphasize snorkeling. Well, on our tour it did feel like it, we seemed to be always ahead of the bigger vessels and the captain had the flexibility to exercise his judgment and experience to seek out whales. We chose to go with Redline because I figured that a rib would be more maneuverable than a big vessel and probably more likely to get closer to a whale or have a whale come close to it. Whale watching I am told is best in Maui so that's what we did while in Maui. The speed boat back to the harbor was exciting and fun. We saw at least a half dozen of them and they would swim right up to you if you don't move fast enough. The turtle stop was my husband's favorite. ![]() The backside of the wall doesnt have moorings so had to snorkel with a live boat floating around, which would not have been possible with a large boat. ![]() We met a couple that same night st dinner who told us they were in the large vessel and the told us that they could only do the inside of the crater. An experience like this is only a available on a small vessel. I loved riding the "elevator" as the waves carried us up and down the wall.
